SAM Software Tools

The Atmel Studio 7 Integrated Development Environment (IDE) supports all SAM microcontrollers and microprocessors.

The ARM GCC 32-bit C compiler is free and comes with the Atmel Studio 7 IDE. Other C compilers (and IDEs) are available from IAR and Keil.

The Atmel Software Framework (ASF) is an integrated software framework for SAM devices. It includes TCP/IP, Graphics, USB and many other libraries.

Atmel START is web-based graphical and menu oriented configuration tool for the Atmel Software Framework.

The Atmel-ICE and SAM-ICE™ can be used to program and debug all SAM MCUs and MPUs.
