I²C Slave Address - Can I use several MCP4017 on the same I²C bus?

The device MCP4017 has a fixed address, according to the datasheet. Can I configure several MCP4017 potentiometers on the same I²C bus?

No, you can NOT use more than one MCP4017/18/19 on the same I²C bus. All slaves have the same fixed address and the communication will fail. Note that some PIC® microcontrollers have multiple I²C modules. This means that one of these devices can be used per I²C module.

We recommend visiting the Microchip Advanced Part Selector (MAPS) to identify which PIC® devices have this feature.
