Will I damage the peripheral on my 3.3 V device if I'm using it in a 5 V system?

If a peripheral on a device that is running at 3.3 V is remapped to use a 5 V tolerant pin in order to receive data that uses 5 V logic levels, will it damage the device?

No, the device will not be damaged as long as the pin is 5 V tolerant. Refer to the device data sheet for full details and specifications.
